Dolores Zinny (1968) was born in Rosario, Argentina. From 1994 to 2002, she lived in New York City, and in 2002, she moved to Berlin on a DAAD Residency, where she still lives and works.
Dolores received her six-year degree as a Licentiate in Fine Arts at the Universidad Nacional in Rosario, Argentina (1992). She attended the ISP Whitney MuseumIndependent Study Program of New York City (1995-96). Following that experience, she received a Guggenheim Fellowship (1998), a Pollock Krasner Fellowship (2000), and a DAAD Artist in Berlin Program Fellowship-Award of the German Academic Exchange Service (2002).
As part of the collaborative artist duo Zinny Maidagan, her work has been exhibited internationally, in venues like the 50th Venice Biennial, the 2nd Sevilla Biennial, the 5th Berlin Biennial, the 8th Gwangju Biennial, the 1st Cartagena Biennial, with special projects at MIT, The New Museum of Contemporary Art New York, Artist Space New York, with individual exhibitions at Fundación PROA Buenos Aires, Moderna Museet Stockholm, Museo Tamayo Mexico City, DAAD Galerie-Berlin, MMK Museum für Moderne Kunst Frankfurt, MGK Siegen, Lund Konsthall, The Showroom London, and Sala Rekalde Bilbao.
Zinny Maidagan Art projects for the public space include Curtain Call for Graz City Hall, "A facade that contains… " for the Royal Library of Belgium Brussels, and, Una tirada de Dados for PROA esplanade. Long-term bronze sculptures include "Forgetting Curve", 1st Prize of the International Public Art Competition Fulda University of Applied Sciences, and "Hippocampus" for the IG Farben Haus, 1st Prize for International Public Art Competition of Hessen and Goethe University, Frankfurt. Libellen, a long term work for the Berlin Ostbahnhof train station was inaugurated in 2024.
Zinny Maidagan participated in topical projects such as LA/LA PST Initiative from Getty Foundation 2015-2017, with "Word for Word: decór, for distance" a long-term intervention of LACMA Museum’s Facade, Los Angeles. In 2022 she had a comprehensive solo exhibition at the DAADGALERIE Berlin. Their most recent works include a commission for the Singapore National Gallery, Trade Winds, 2023-24, and a commission exhibtionsat the Nacional Museum of Fine Arts, Buenos Aires with PROA Foundation 2024.
