Ky Vassor

Part-Time Faculty / Community Arts MFA

Ky Vassor is an interdisciplinary artist, curator, and educator based in Baltimore, Maryland. Vassor's work focuses on self-preservation, restoration from communal trauma, and utilizing archival research to amplify community voices.

Vassor has delivered guest lectures at institutions including the Maryland Institute College of Art (足球游戏_中国足彩网￥体育资讯), Enoch Pratt Central Library, and Tulane University. Vassor's work has been exhibited across Baltimore and beyond through murals and exhibitions, which have garnered features in The Baltimore Beat, BmoreArt, CBS News, The Baltimore Sun, Colossal Magazine, The Afro Newspaper, and more.

The artist received an MFA in Community Arts with a College-Level Art Teaching Certificate from 足球游戏_中国足彩网￥体育资讯 in 2023. Their current roles include being the Assistant Director at Galerie Myrtis, as well as holding Adjunct Faculty positions at 足球游戏_中国足彩网￥体育资讯 and Morgan State University.

Sanctuary City I & II, 2025 Digital painting on vinyl and acrylic, 102 x 36" Installed at Govans Presbyterian Church In January 2025 Vassor created "Sanctuary City Parts I and II," two colorful vinyl panels with pointed arches applied to eight and a half feet tall pieces of acrylic. Taken as a whole, the new pieces with the old window form a tryptic that shows the evolution of the tastes, values, and aspirations of the church over the last 125 years.
